Thailand plays host to a wide variety of snakes which makes it a treasure trove for herpetologists, or the curious. The most fearsome are the venomous kind, including various cobras, kraits and vipers, as well as the offshore dwelling sea snakes. If it sends shivers up your spine, it should be noted that most snakes find man rather unattractive too. It is a rare occurrence that a snake in Thailand will bite anyone. Most species will slither off when disturbed and would have to be cornered or feel under great duress to strike out at human bait - most humans don't let it come to that. However, here at the farm there are handlers who appear to dice with danger during the regular shows. At times you can admire these often shunned creatures at a safe distance, or get friendly with one of the harmless species. Maybe hang a reticulated python round your neck.
