How long does the flight last? How long will I be weightless? |
| |
The entire ZERO-G weightless experience takes 3-4 hours. This includes an initial orientation meeting, transportation to the aircraft, FAA screening, ferrying to the fly zone, the weightless maneuvers, return ferrying to the airport and a follow-up re-gravitation party (a champagne celebration following a weightless flight where passengers are toasted and provided with complimentary ZERO-G merchandise).
The typical flight portion of the ZERO-G Experience lasts approximately 90 to 100 minutes. During the flight every customer experiences 15 parabolic arcs, each providing about 30 seconds of reduced gravity or weightlessness. By the end of the flight you will log about 7 to 8 minutes of reduced gravity - that's about as much zero-gravity time as Alan Shepard experienced on America's first human spaceflight. |

| |
What can you do in weightlessness in 30 seconds? |
| |
Thirty seconds is actually a lot of time, especially in zero gravity. During this time
you can fly the length of the cabin, or pop a water balloon and watch the water hover before your eyes, or release a handful of M&Ms and play a game of packman as you chase them down. From a research front, 30 second increments is long enough to effectively test equipment before it is launched on expensive space-bound missions. From a television and filming perspective, 30 seconds is long enough to film TV commercials or film scenes for a movie.
During the training session, your Team Coach will present a number of "Fun Weightless Tricks" that are designed for your education and pleasure during parabolic flight. You will also be encouraged to use your imagination and create your own weightless activities. The most important thing to remember is to have fun! So join the fun !!!!It's like nothing on Earth; choose to fly like Superman, drink a bubble of water floating by you, walk up the side of the plane or let your imagination soar! It's a feeling of true freedom, a place where the impossible becomes real. Parabolic flight is the only way to experience weightlessness on Earth without going into space. It is the same way Tom Hanks floated in the movie Apollo 13. During a parabola you have 25 times more hang-time then the best basketball player and are more aerobatic than any Olympic gold medalist; for once you're in a realm where gravity has lost its throne. It's the stuff dreams are made of ... it's ZERO-G!

ZERO-G Program |
| |
Your program starts upon arrival at the ZERO-G Training Center. Check-in at the reception desk and receive your name badge. After check-in, meet one of the flight crew who will fit you with your ZERO-G Flight Suit, which will be yours to keep.
Then enjoy an opportunity to meet your fellow flyers prior to the start of the pre-flight training program which reviews safety, security, in-flight procedures and exactly what you can expect during the 15 parabolas of the Zero G flight aboard G-FORCE ONE.
Next you will be divided into three teams, meet your coaches and transfer to the Las Vegas McCarran International Airport. Upon arrival at the airport, photos will be taken with your team and the entire group around the aircraft before boarding G-FORCE ONE for your 90-minute flight.
Your flight begins like any other commercial flight until the seatbelt sign is turned off; at this point you are guided to the floating area and instructed to lay on the padded floor for the first parabola. After a few moments of feeling pressed gently into the floor as your experience 1.8g's during your accent, the Flight Director will call out "Martian 1" and you begin to feel lighter (1/3g - a third of your weight).
Between parabolas you assume the prone position on the floor; again you are pressed gently into the floor for a few moments before hearing the Flight Director call out "Lunar 1" and you begin to feel even lighter (1/6g - a sixth of your weight). During each parabola you will experience approximately 30 seconds of reduced gravity or weightlessness; that's a total of 7 - 8 minutes of reduced gravity. Then finally, the moment, the Flight Director calls out "ZERO-G".
After the completion of your flight, you'll board the bus for your return to the ZERO-G Training Center for a re-gravitational party complete with champagne and hors'devours. At the conclusion of the party your program ends. |

How it Works |
| |
Aboard specially modified Boeing 727, G-FORCE ONE, weightlessness is achieved by doing aerobatic maneuvers known as parabolas. Specially trained pilots perform these aerobatic maneuvers which are not simulated in any way. ZERO-G’s passengers experience true weightlessness.
Before starting a parabola, G-FORCE ONE flies level to the horizon at an altitude of 24,000 feet. The pilots then begins to pull up, gradually increasing the angle of the aircraft to about 45° to the horizon reaching an altitude of 34,000 feet. During this pull-up, passengers will feel the pull of 1.8 Gs. Next the plane is “pushed over” to create the zero gravity segment of the parabola. For the next 20-30 seconds everything in the plane is weightless. Next a gentle pull-out is started which allows the flyers to stabilize on the aircraft floor. This maneuver is repeated 12-15 times, each taking about ten miles of airspace to perform.
In addition to achieving zero gravity, G-FORCE ONE also flies a parabola designed to offer Lunar gravity (one sixth your weight) and Martian gravity (one third your weight). This is created by flying a larger arc over the top of the parabola
G-FORCE ONE flies in a FAA designated airspace that is approximately 100 miles long and ten miles wide. Usually three to five parabolas are flown consecutively with short periods of level flight between each set. |

What to Expect |
| |
When joining a ZERO-G Experience aboard G-FORCE ONE, you will encounter the only commercial opportunity on Earth for individuals to enjoy true weightlessness without going to space. The day of your ZERO-G Experience will last about five hours and will adhere to the following schedule: |
| |
| |
Check-In: When you arrive at the designated ZERO-G Training Facility you will check-in with your government issued picture identification. You will then be introduced to your Team Coach and escorted into the Orientation Room where you can enjoy a light breakfast before orientation begins. |
| |
| |
Pre-flight Orientation: A pre-flight video begins the orientation covering everything you need to know concerning your ZERO-G Experience. After the video you will be broken into teams of Gold, Silver or Blue where you will be able to meet your group and cover additional questions with your Coach. |
| |
| |
Security: After the orientation, all flyers and Coaches will proceed through security screening just like you would at an airport. Please note that carry-on items are limited and must fit in your pocket. |
| |
| |
Transportation: Once screening is complete, all flyers will proceed to the aircraft. Transportation to G-FORCE ONE will differ depending on the location of the flight. |
| |
| |
Travel to Fly Zone: Before boarding, a group picture will be taken in front of G-FORCE ONE. Once everyone is seated, a brief on-board safety demonstration will be given by the Flight Attendants before takeoff. Depending on the approved airspace, it will take about 30 minutes to reach appropriate altitude. |
| |
| |
The ZERO-G Experience: Once the okay is given to unbuckle, all flyers will head to the Gold, Silver or Blue Floating Zone. You are now minutes away from becoming weightless. 12-15 parabolas are flown for an approximate weightless time of eight minutes. |
| |
| |
Regravitation Celebration: After your weightless experience you and your fellow flyers will enjoy the Regravitation Celebration where the pre-flight photos and certificates are handed out and refreshments are provided |
