Day 1: Arrive Christchurch
On arrival in Christchurch, 'The Garden City', you will be welcomed and your Vacation begins.
Day 2: Christchurch - Kaikoura (B)
Travel through North Canterbury before turning towards the coast and arriving in Kaikoura, a town steeped in Maori history and legend. This afternoon, enjoy a Whale Watch experience by boat (weather permitting). You will have the opportunity to view the magnificent Sperm Whale as well as New Zealand's own tiny Hectors dolphin, Fur Seals and the Royal Albatross.
Day 3: Kaikoura - Blenheim (B)
Travel north towards Blenheim today. This afternoon is at leisure for optional activities. Perhaps you might like to visit a few of the local wineries. Optional activities are not included in the tour price.
Day 4: Blenheim - Picton - Wellington (B)
Travel to Picton and leave the Marlborough Sounds with its sparkling clear waters and lush forests before you cross Cook Strait, the stretch of water that separates the North and South Islands of New Zealand.
Day 5: Wellington - Napier (B)
Travel north onto Palmerston North, famous for its agricultural university. Cross the Takapau Plains and travel through the Manawatu Gorge onto Napier.
Day 6: Napier - Rotorua (B)
Today north to arrive at New Zealand's largest lake, Lake Taupo. Continue north via Wairakei Geothermal area to reach the 'Thermal City' of Rotorua. This afternoon visit Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve to see boiling mud pools and roaring geysers. Following this see bird life, trout and other wildlife before viewing a New Zealand farm show featuring sheep dog demonstrations, cow milking and an introduction to the stars of our sheep industry. This afternoon is at leisure.
Day 7: Rotorua (B)
Visit Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve to see boiling mud pools and roaring geysers. Following this see bird life, trout and other wildlife before viewing a New Zealand farm show featuring sheep dog demonstrations, cow milking and an introduction to the stars of our sheep industry. This afternoon is at leisure.
Day 8: Rotorua - Waitomo - Auckland (B)
Travel over the forested Mamaku Ranges to Waitomo for a guided tour of the world famous Waitomo Glowworm caves. View the millions of glowworms on the cavern roof before continuing through the fertile Waikato area to Auckland.
Day 9: Departure Day (B)
