Day 01 : ARRIVAL IN TUSCANY - D
Arrival in Tuscany and transfer to Borgo San Luigi - your charming accommodation, a Country House situated in Monteriggioni (SI), Siena surroundings. Afternoon at leisure with a stroll through the countryside of the estate. Welcome dinner. Overnight in the Country House.
Day 02 : SAN GIMIGNANO - SIENA - B/L
Breakfast in the Hotel. Day is free.(on you own) You can visit the historical centre: Dome, Broletto, San Fedele square and church, Medieval Walls and Towers. Or take a Mini Cruise in first basin of Lake.You can see the most famous Villas on the Lake: Villa Olmo, Villa Erba, villa d'Este etc. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3rd : COOKING LESSON - MONTALCINO - WINE TASTING - B/L
Breakfast.
In the morning hands-on cooking lesson, concentrated on "antipasti" (Hors d'oevre) or classic Tuscan home-made pasta or meat main course. Lunch based on what it has been prepared.
Afternoon outing to Montalcino, the stately town within a castle that produces one of Italy's most prestigious wines, the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG. Guided walking tour of the historical centre and visit the small Enoteca, built into a hillside. Transfer to the winery, visit the winery museum and a wine tasting. Overnight in the Country House.
Day 4th : MONTEPULCIANO - WINE TASTING - PIENZA - B/L
Breakfast.
Morning dedicated in the discovery of a large Tuscan red wine, the Rosso Nobile di Montepulciano. Arrival at Montepulciano, a guided walking tour of the historical centre, called the pearl of the Five Hundreds. During the visit, stop at one of the oldest wineries situated in the heart of the city. Wine tasting. Lunch in a typical restaurant. Next, visit of an olive mill.
Afternoon excursion to Pienza, the purest Renaissance town in the world. Entirely rebuilt between 1459-1462, it was the brainstorm of Pope Pius II and today is memorable not only for its architectural purity but also for its exquisite food shops. Late afternoon, snack with a tasting of local Pecorino cheese. Possibility to stock up on truffle-flavored cheese, wild herbs and other delicacies by strolling through these pristine 15th-century streets. Overnight in the Country House.
Day 5th : FLORENCE - B/D
Breakfast in the Country House.
Transfer to Florence. Accomodation in hotel and in the morning guided sightseeing tour of Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance, including the splendid Duomo, crowned with the magnificent Brunelleschi Dome and the Baptistry with its exquisite golden doors by Ghiberti, Giotto's Bell Tower, Town hall Square (Piazza della Signoria). Rest of afternoon at leisure for optional sightseeing or shopping. Dinner in a typical ancient restaurant(an old monastery) just outside Florence: traditional atmosphere with luminous dining rooms, stone walls, huge outdoor courtyard and wonderful fountain surrounded by beautiful array of flowers where guests can enjoy their lunch listening to traditional music and folklore songs. Transfer back to the Hotel and possibility of enjoying the nightlife in Florence. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 6th : PISA - LUCCA - B/L
Breakfast.
Leave for Pisa, a city of aristocratic look and a complex of monuments amongst the most representative in Italian architecture, as the famous Leaning Tower on the "Campo dei Miracoli". Lunch in a typical restaurant.
Continue to Lucca birth place of the famous composer Puccini. A guided walking tour winds through the small streets visiting the church of San Michele and the Duomo finishing in the area of the amphitheatre. Return to Florence before dinner, time at leisure to discover the town. Overnight in Hotel
Day 7th : CHIANTI - B/D
Breakfast.
Visit to the Chianti region including the medieval village of Montefioralle, an old butchers shop in Greve, olive oil production with a tasting and Chianti tasting in a well known wine cellar in heart of Chianti Classico. In the evening Farewell dinner in a splendid typical Osteria. Overnight in Florence.
Day 8th : DEPARTURE - B
Breakfast and departure.
