The Bull Temple - The awesome monolithic deity, in this temple, Nandi, draws devotees from all over country. The statue was anointed in 981 AD. Carved from a single block of stone, the statue stands 17m tall and is visible from 30km away. It is one of the largest monolithic statutes in the world.  After breakfast, Sightseeing - which include visit to The Mysore Palace: Once the residence of the Wodeyars, this structure is one of the largest of its kind in India. Built in 1912 in the Indo Saracenic style, this place excludes a grandeur that is unmatched. The Golden Royal Elephant Throne, the Durbar Hall, the Kalyana Mantap and the Gallery are the main attractions here. The Jaganmohan Palace: This is a converted art gallery which houses paintings that date back to the late 19th century. Paintings of Raja Ravi Verma of Travancore and the Russian Painter Svetoslav Roerich are on display. Paintings in the traditional Mysore Golden leaf style can also been seen here Chamundi Hill: Perched atop a hill is a 12th century temple of Chamundershwari. About 13 Kms from Mysore by road these is also a 1000 step walking track for all those young at heart to try. The gigantic 4.8 meter tall monolith of Nandi the sacred vehicle of Lord Shiva is a marvel to watch. Also close to the temple stands a gigantic statue of the demon Mahishasura. Brindavan Gardens: Built in 1924, this is India's first irrigation dam. Sir.M.Vishweswariah, the engineer who designed and built this dam, has shown his acumen in converting a dam site into a beautiful garden with colorful fountains and ponds downstream. The dam is named after the then Maharaja of Mysore, Krishnaraja Wodeyar, who financed this novel project. KRS represents a marvel of civil engineering achievement in pre-independence India and was among the first in the world to use automatic sluice gates. Day 06 : Mysore - Ooty
After Breakfast proceed to Ooty. Ooty know as the 'Queen of Hill Stations', Udhagamandalam better known as Ooty is the most popular hill station in the South. Located in the Western Ghats at a height of 2240 m, Udhagamandalam is the headquarters of the Nilgiris (Blue Mountain) district where the two ghats meet. Nature has been generous with this region which is by far the most beautiful in the state. Ooty is famous of tea plantations .Most of the tea estates were established by the British. The old colonial buildings and life style still exists. Guided Sightseeing. Botanical Garden is maintained by the Horticulture Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu. A wide variety of exotic and ornamental plants adorn this garden. There is also a beautiful Italian floral garden and for those who simply want to relax, there's always the green carpet of the well-maintained lawns. The "Summer Festivals" is held each year during the month of May in the Botanical Garden and is an added attraction for tourists. Ooty Lake: The artificial Lake, yet another of Mr. John Sullivan’s contributions who was the district collector of Coimbatore on 1824, has facilities for boating. St Stephens Church:  Situated in the hilly area on Club Road, St Stephens Church is said to be the oldest in the Nilgiris. The church was built in 1829 and consecrated in 1830. The town was shaped by the cultural influences of the Dutch and later the British. The results of these cultural influences are seen in the many examples of Indo-European architecture that still exist here. Chinese fishing nets: These huge cantilevered fishing nets are the legacy of one of the first visitors to the Malabar Coast. Erected here between 1350 and 1450 AD by Traders from the court of Kublai Khan, these nets are set up on teak wood and bamboo poles. The best place to watch the nets being lowered into the sea and the catch being brought in is the Vasco da Gama square, a narrow promenade that runs along the beach. St. Francis Church: Built in 1503 by Portuguese Franciscan Friars, this is India's oldest European Church. This was initially built of timber and later reconstructed in stone. It was restored in 1779 by the Protestant Dutch and converted to an Anglican church by the British in 1795. Vasco da Gama was buried here in 1524 before his remains were moved to Lisbon, Portugal. Mattancherry Palace (Dutch Palace): Built by the Portuguese in 1557 and presented to Raja Veera Kerala Varma of Kochi, the palace was renovated in 1663 by the Dutch. On display here are beautiful murals depicting scenes from the epics, Ramayana and Mahabharata, and some of the Puranic Hindu legends. Day 12: Periyar - Kumarakom
After Breakfast, drive to Kumarakom. A nice Backwater Village hidden among the palm trees on the eastern shore of Lake Vembanad, at the mouth of the Kavanar River, Nature itself has set on an abandoned coconut plantation in the very heart of these fascinating backwaters and has been designed to give visitors an authentic insight into Kutanad life. Most of the places can only be reached by boat – a ferry leaves from one of several mainland embarkation points at scheduled times throughout the day and its accommodation consist of individual cottages called tharawads, a traditional wooden house of Kerala. Day 13: Allepey (Houseboat)
Breakfast, Morning Free. Noon Board Houseboat. (Kettuvalloms) or Houseboats (Rice boats) are country boats that were used in the early days for the transport of goods from the isolated interior villages to the towns. A ride on a Kettuvallom is a fabulous way to explore the fascinating beauty of the backwaters which give a glimpse of paddy fields, toddy tapping. Also you can indulge in fishing.  A house boat is about 67 feet in length and has a width of around 13 feet in the middle. The materials that go into the making are all local and Eco friendly bamboo poles, coconut fiber ropes, bamboo mats, coir carpets etc. The house boats have fully furnished single and double rooms with sundeck, comfortable chairs, kitchen and toilet with A/C. In addition there is also separate rest room for the crew. Traditional lanterns are used as lights. The crew includes a chef and two oarsmen. Day 14: Kumarakom - Kovalam
Breakfast is served on board. Later after Breakfast, drive to Kovalam. Kovalam India’s most spectacular beach. Here the boundless blue of the Arabian Sea and the unwinding miles of fine white sanded beaches are washed by the surf which roars and hisses at the Coconut Palms. A massive rocky promontory on the beach has created a beautiful bay of calm waters ideal for sea bathing. The leisure options at this beach are plenty and diverse - sunbathing, swimming, herbal body toning massages, special cultural programme, Catamaran cruising etc. The tropical sun acts so fast that one can see the faint blush of coppery tan on the skin in a matter of minutes. Life on the beach begins late in the day and it carries on well into the night. Sightseeing of Trivandrum. Thiruvananthapuram, earlier known as Trivandrum, is the capital city of Kerala. Dedicated to the virgin goddess Kanyakumari (Parvati) who stands guard over the country, the temple is built at the spot where the goddess is believed to have waited for her consort Lord Siva to come and claim her hand in marriage. At one time the shifting sands at the shores of Kanyakumari were believed to be multi-hued as a result of the colored rice that was sprinkled by approving gods over the couple at their wedding. Equally fascinating is the story about the diamond nose stud worn by the goddess believed to have (mis) guided many a ship to a sorry end at the treacherous rocks near the shore. So great was the threat of the reflected light from the nose-stud to the unsuspecting ships that the door on the side facing the sea had to be closed for ensuring the safety of the ships. Day 03 : Kanyakumari - Madurai
After breakfast, drive to Madurai. Madurai: More than 2500 years old ancient city, situated on the banks of the river Vaigai Madurai is believed to have been built by the Pandyan King Kulasekara. Legend has it that drops of Maduram (nectar) fell from Lord Shiva's locks when he came to bless its people for constructing a temple for him. Madurai's history can be divided into four periods, beginning over 2000 years ago, when it was the capital of the Pandyan Kings. Apart from a brief period it fell to the Cholas, Madurai remain with Pandyan till the decline of the empire. Visit, Meenakshi Temple This temple is the city's main attraction. This temple is nearly 2000 years old placed in the heart of the old town - a splendid example of Dravidian architecture. The present temple was designed in 1560 by Vishwanatha Nayak and subsequently built during the reign of Tirumalai Nayak. There are four entrances to the temple with an area of six hectares. Day 04: Madurai - Rameshwaram

Rameshwaram, a well known pilgrim centre, is not only connected with the history of the great epic Ramayana but also remains as a symbol of National Integration. It is one of the most sacred towns of India, it is well known for its temple corridor-the longest in India, the BathingGhat, KothandaRamar Temple and other nearby islands-abundant with coral reefs and other marine. Rameswara, as its name implies, is the holy place of Rameswara. i.e., Iswarainstalled by Rama.The presiding deity is known variously as Rameswara, Ramalinga or Ramanatha. According to puranas, as advised by Rishis, Ram along with Sita and Lakhsmana, installed. The pride of places goes to the Sethupathis of Rama.The existing records show that in the 12th century, Prakrama Bahu, King of Ceylon constructed the Sanctum Sanctorum around the Moolalinga Sri Viswanath and the Ambalshrine. In the 15th century, Udayan Sethupathi of Ramnad and a Vaisya of Nagoor built the western stone tower which is about 78 ft. high and the compound wall.
